13 TRI-RAIL STATION PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE REHABILITATION
MIAMI-DADE, BROWARD & PALM COUNTIES, FL
Tri-Rail stations form the backbone of South Florida’s commuter rail system, connecting major urban centers from Miami to West Palm Beach. Serving thousands of
daily riders, these stations provide critical access across a fast-moving corridor where safety, reliability, and efficiency are essential. Each location is designed to keep
people moving—linking communities, supporting transit flow, and strengthening regional connectivity.
Southern Road & Bridge, LLC is performing a major pedestrian bridge rehabilitation program for the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority across 13 Tri-Rail stations. The work is focused on restoring structural integrity and improving passenger safety through corrosion repairs, upgraded protective coating systems, structural steel rehabilitation, and replacement of concrete deck slabs. To reduce disruption to daily operations, the project is being phased with two station bridges closed at a time in roughly four-month intervals, while alternate access is maintained where needed. This multi-station effort is part of a broader investment in Tri-Rail infrastructure aimed at strengthening reliability, extending service life, and enhancing the commuter experience across the corridor.
