The Rainbow Bridge is a historic steel through-arch bridge spanning the Neches River, connecting Port Arthur and Bridge City in Southeast Texas. Completed in 1938,
the structure was engineered with a 680-foot main span and approximately 177 feet of vertical clearance, allowing large maritime vessels to navigate the busy
industrial waterway below. The bridge served as a critical transportation link for the region and is recognized for its engineering significance, earning a place on the
National Register of Historic Places. Today, the structure continues to play an important role in regional mobility while standing as one of the most recognizable bridges in Southeast Texas. Southern Road & Bridge performed extensive maintenance and structural rehabilitation on the bridge as part of a Texas Department of
Transportation preservation initiative. The work focused on restoring key structural elements and improving long-term durability to ensure the historic crossing
remains safe and reliable for the communities and industries that depend on it.
