SRB Wins Best in Bridge - FDOT & FTBA 2025 Best in Construction Award
ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Florida Transportation Builders’ Association (FTBA) today announced the recipients of the 2025 Best in Construction awards. These awards are selected in partnership with FDOT and presented annually to FTBA’s contractor members in recognition of their impactful contributions to Florida’s transportation and infrastructure system.
“These award-winning projects reflect the high standards, collaboration, and innovation that define transportation in Florida,” said FDOT Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E. “FDOT is proud to work alongside industry partners who are deeply committed to delivering infrastructure that enhances safety, strengthens communities, and supports our state’s continued growth. Congratulations to this year’s recipients for their exceptional contributions and dedication.”

The project is highly intricate and very time-consuming. It not only encompasses concrete placement for complicated repairs, often using four to five divers for underwater pours, but it also requires this specialized work for an extensive seven-mile span—the bridge is one of the 10 longest in the U.S. Pumping a total of 420 cubic yards of concrete over two years will not set any records for volume and speed, but it is the required amount of concrete and time to complete a $14.9 million contract for the Florida Department of Transportation.
